Aaron Tippin isn't just a country star and a pilot. The singer is a certified flight instructor as well. And he earned his certification for a very specific reason - to sign his son's logbook after the teenager finished his first solo flight.
Aaron tells "Country Weekly" he's proud that his son is carrying on the family's "tradition of aviation." He explains that his dad was a pilot who signed his logbook when he made his first solo flight on his 16th birthday.
Ted had hoped to do the same, but had to wait an extra day to follow in his father's footsteps. He intended to take his flight on his 16th birthday last Saturday, but bad weather kept him grounded until Sunday.
