GOOD NEWS: Stolen Equipment From Veteran-Run Business Replaced By Nonprofit

Former Marine Cody Nichols runs a company called Our Troops Services and hires fellow vets who are having trouble adjusting to civilian life. They work on fences, construction and do lawn care in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but their work came to a sudden stop a few months back when someone stole their equipment.

The crew tried to keep working by using push mowers on acres and acres of land, but they fell behind. Thankfully, a nonprofit called Soldier’s Wish heard about what happened and rallied to help the small business. Within weeks, Nichols and his workers were surprised with $15,000 worth of brand new equipment.

“You really saved us,” Nichols told the charity. “I really thought our company was going to die.”

And to make up for his employees’ lost income, Nichols has started a GoFundMe page, which has already gotten more than $7,000 in donations.
