GOOD NEWS: Heroic Four-Year-Old Saves Family From Fire

As parents, it’s our job to protect our little ones and keep them safe, but a little girl in Florida has saved her family and she’s only four. Mesha Farland was playing with her baby brother in their Jacksonville home when she says she looked back and saw flames.

Thankfully, this toddler knew just what to do and ran to get her mother, Amri Payne. Mom says she saw fire “shooting up to the roof” but was able to get the baby out of the crib and everyone out of the house safely. Damage from the blaze was extensive, but the family is focusing on the positives.

“She’s a hero,” Payne says of Mesha. “I’m proud of her.”
