Ohio Woman Cleans Up More Than 500K Pieces Of Litter: Akron, Ohio, resident Debbie Miller has taken on a personal mission to clean up her city by picking up litter, and recently crossed the milestone of having collected over 500-thousand pieces of trash so far with a goal to reach 1-million by the end of the summer. Her motivation began after her dog, Henry, cut his nose on a piece of broken glass, which led her to start cleaning up her local area to prevent further harm to pets, children, and adults, too. Miller's efforts have been recognized and celebrated by the community and organizations like Keep America Beautiful, and she has even received a proclamation from Akron’s mayor, declaring April 3rd as Debbie Miller Day.
