Carrie Underwood reunited with former American Idol judge Paula Abdul Wednesday night (5/18) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
The season four Idol winner met up with Paula backstage at The Total Package Tour where the “Straight Up” singer co-headlined with Boyz II Men and New Kids on the Block.

“Well, look who I ran into backstage at #TheTotalPackage Tour!” Carrie captioned a photo with Paula. “So cool to watch her do her thing!”
Paula, of course, sat next to Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell as judges on American Idol’s first eight seasons on Fox.
“So happy to reunite with the amazingly talented and equally beautiful @carrieunderwood tonight,” Paula captioned the same photo. “So proud of your journey.”

The reunion comes days after rumors surfaced that Carrie “has held talks” with ABC about possibly judging the network’s revival of the longtime show. As for whether Paula would consider returning to the show, she tells Extra! she thinks “[ABC needs] to do a whole reboot.”
Look for the American Idol reboot to hit ABC March 2018.
