After seeing a 12-year-old Syrian refugee staring through their window, a Turkish gym has given him a lifetime membership. Muhammet Halit was spotted gazing longingly at the equipment inside the gym while holding his shoe shining gear and a photographer snapped a photo of the boy, which has gone viral.
When the gym owner saw the photo of the kid, who works shining shoes, he offered him the all-access pass to use his facility. Now the young man can go workout anytime he wants to, a welcome treat after fleeing the civil war in his home country.
“He found me and helped me,” Halit says of the kind gesture from the gym owner.
“I had always dreamed of losing weight and now I believe I can do that by working out.”
