Anyone who’s shopped at the Hub Walgreens in Richfield, Minnesota in the last 25 years knows Irene, but they call her “The Walgreen’s Lady.” She’s been working there for that many years and greets everyone with a “Welcome to Walgreens” and wishes each customer a "blessed day/night/holiday” and tells them to “be safe as you exit the store."
So her coworker, Stephanie, a pharmacy technician at the store, felt like Irene deserves a vacation and started a GoFundMe page to raise money for Irene's dream vacation and has already raised over $2,500 in just two days. Stephanie says Irene suffered a stroke recently and hasn’t had the easiest time, so this comes at a perfect time.
Irene has no idea her friend is planning this for her with support from all those in the community who love their friendly Walgreens friend, so Stephanie is hoping to keep it a secret until her 25th anniversary of working at the store on April 7.
