Keith Urban teased us that this cover was coming, but nothing could have prepared us for the stripped down, emotional rendition of this popular dance song from producer Marshmellow and UK group Bastille.
Keith recently teamed up with Spotify to contribute to the Spotify Singles program which features mainstream artists covering a song of their choice.
For Keith, the choice to cover "Happier" was an easy decision.
“The first time I heard ‘Happier’ it spoke to me lyrically. Underneath that badass track there’s an incredible story of emotional conflict being told,” Urban said in a statement. “I could really relate to it and so I set about trying to frame that in my own way.”
Keith isn’t the only country artist who identifies with the musical prowess of Marshmello. Kane Brown also has mentioned that there could be a collab in the works for 2019.
Watch the video below to see Keith play his cover for fans at KISS 1065.
