GOOD NEWS: Old Episode Of TV Show “The Office” Helps Save Driver’s Life

A man saved a fellow driver’s life on the side of the road recently and he credits a decade-old episode of the TV show “The Office” for making it happen. Cross Scott says he was at a light in Tuscon, Arizona when he spotted a car on the side of the road with its hazard lights on and the driver slumped over in the seat.

Scott doesn’t have emergency training, but he somehow managed to remember the 2009 show where Steve Carrell’s character does CPR to the tune of the song “Stayin’ Alive” by The BeeGees. He broke into the woman’s locked car and found she wasn’t breathing, so he used the technique he had seen on the show to do CPR. That song has the right tempo for chest compressions and it worked.

The woman was soon breathing and minutes later paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital to be checked out. One of the EMTs told Scott that if he hadn’t responded so quickly, the situation might not have had such a happy ending.
