Criss Angel Shares Heartbreaking Photos From 5-Year-Old Son’s Chemotherapy

Criss Angel is sticking by his son Johnny Chrisstopher’s side as he begins chemotherapy.

After celebrating Christmas, the magician shared some poignant photos of his baby boy’s treatment on Instagram. “Back today for a long day of chemo… @cure4thekids,” Angel captioned a touching image of him resting on a hospital bed beside his 5-year-old, whom he shares with Shaunyl Benson. In another hard-to-see picture posted on Angel’s Instagram Stories, Johnny appears on his backside with silicone tubes on his chest. “Sad! ANGRY!” the entertainer expressed. “But we WILL get through this!”

Benson shared similar sentiments about the unfortunate situation as well. “THIS is childhood cancer. THIS is happening right now. Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. 1 in 5 of those children will not make it,” she captioned a series of photos of Johnny. “THIS is our son Johnny Crisstopher @crissangel he has battled for 3 years and has another 3 to go."

The heartbreaking photos from Johnny’s chemo drew an overwhelming amount of love and support from fans praying for the best. “Many prayers for the little one and his parents. It is heartbreaking as a parent when you can’t ‘fix’ a problem for your child,” one user commented with a heart emoji. “My heart, prayers, and love are with you Criss. A father and grandfather,” wrote another.

Johnny, older brother to the pair's 10-month-old son Xristos, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia one year after his birth, in 2015. By 2016, Angel declared his son was “technically in remission” and on his road to recovery. Sadly, on December 4, 2019, it was revealed Johnny had relapsed.

We’re sending our thoughts to Angel and his family at this unfortunate time.
