Argument Over Dog Poop Leads To Shooting In Colorado Neighborhood

Residents of a quiet neighborhood in Arapahoe County, Colorado were forced to shelter in place on Wednesday (February 26) night after an argument over dog poop ended with a gunshot. Police were unable to locate the suspect, despite combing the neighborhood for nearly an hour.

The victim told police that he was walking his dog when he got into an argument with another dog owner over picking up dog poop. Police are not sure who started the confrontation but said that the suspect fired a single shot before fleeing. The victim was not injured.

Residents were not happy that the suspect decided to open fire in the middle of their neighborhood.

"I think that's nuts," Alan Nottingham told KMGH. "Somebody ought to hit that guy in the head."

Authorities said the suspect could face multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and menacing.
