A car repair shop in Michigan is celebrating their business anniversary by giving back to the community. In honor of the five years they’ve been open, the owners of Mr. Hoxie’s Garage gave some overdue school lunch accounts a tune up.

GrantandKris Hoxiewrote a check for $2,033.99 to pay off unpaid student lunch debts in Suttons Bay. The couple usually supports school arts and sports programs, but the pandemic has disrupted them, so they found an alternate way to show their support. “We wanted to find a way to help relieve some of the stress that comes with attending school on a daily basis,” Grant says.

“We all need a break right now,” saysCasey Petz, Superintendent of Suttons Bay Public Schools. “And this gesture will certainly help us to spread some joy to families this year.”
