"The 33rd Annual Muskogee Exchange Club Chili and BBQ Cook-off will take place Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th at Civic Center Market Square Festival Area, 5th and Boston Street. This year, the event includes a free outdoor concert, a cook-off, the Azalea Festival Parade, rides, inflatables, games, food and drinks, competitions and plenty of kids’ activities. The Muskogee Exchange Club Chili and BBQ Cook-Off supports local organizations and local youth.
The concert on Friday, April 7th, will feature Jacob Tovar and Paul Benjaman. Gates open at 6pm; the concert begins at 7pm. On Saturday, April 8th, the Cook-off will begin at 10am, along with the Azalea Festival Parade downtown in front of the Muskogee Civic Center. Interested event goers can sample all the food by purchasing a taster kit (1 for $10 or 2 for $15). Participants can register a cook team at xcmuskogee.com.
The Muskogee Exchange Club has donated over $1,000,000 to local agencies dealing with child abuse prevention and youth betterment programs. Since 1984 their mission has been to support Muskogee’s youth. The goal, this year, is to donate a record amount of proceeds to local charities via this event.
