  • Rescuers found them in a ravine and authorities report they’re all doing well and in “good spirits.”
Peter William Munro, his seven-year-old Leila and dog Buck were rescued from Mt. Hood National Forest after they were stranded in the “challenging terrain” for 48 hours.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office reports the trio was camping and set off on a hike, but when they failed to return to their campsite, Peter’s wife Camille called to report them missing. Search and rescue teams were called in and eventually found them in a ravine about 1.25-miles and 12-hundred feet below where they started their hike.

Authorities say Peter had gotten lost and was heading downhill to where he thought the trail was, but then he injured himself and couldn’t walk anymore. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and all three are said to be in “good spirits” after their adventure.
