Well, we’re happy to update this story and tell youWilliam White’swish was granted and he received 70-thousand cards, letters, and well wishes from all over the world.
The World War II vet’s “Operation Valentine” campaign crushed its goal of 100 cards and the mountain of mail Major Bill has received is from folks in every state and a few foreign countries, too. Surrounded by his waist-high stacks of boxes from the post office, he says, “It’s just too fantastic.”
