It was a long time in the making, butWigglesthe dog has finally found her forever home. She arrived at the5As Animal Shelterin Godfrey, Illinois, when she was three years old, but she wasn’t very friendly at first.
Dog trainerKarla Cranesays Wiggles was not good with humans or other dogs when she came in, but eventually she warmed up to people. Another obstacle came up for the female pit bull mix when she was diagnosed with a benign tumor in 2016. The shelter decided not to operate because it wasn’t cancerous and because of the dog’s age, but eventually the right family found Wiggles and after 11 years, she was finally adopted.
“They’re perfect,” Crane says. “We couldn’t ask for anybody better.”
