Baby is saved in the school drop off line

Shout out to ALL of our teachers and school workers here in Twister Country. Thank you for all you do!~Karla

A Florida school resource officer is being hailed a hero for saving a baby who stopped breathing in the car line. Jennifer Howard was dropping off her seven-year-old daughter, Savannah, at her elementary school in Fort Myers when the little girl noticed that her five-month-old baby sister, Cheyenne, who was in the backseat with her, wasn’t breathing.

In a video posted to social media by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office you can see Howard jumping out of her car in a panic and grabbing the baby from the back of the car. She then calls out for help and School Resource Officer Bill Weaver comes running over and takes the baby from her. The officer reportedly performed back thrusts and chest compressions on the baby and was able to get her breathing again.

The baby’s grandmother, Debbie Davis-Cowley, commented on the post thanking the officer for his life-saving help. “Cheyenne is a preemie and has overcome many obstacles and I for one am very grateful [Weaver] was there,” she writes. Howard later took to social media to let her friends and family know that even though it was a scary situation, baby Cheyenne is great now.
