October 21st is Back to the Future Day! It's the day Marty McFly time traveled forward to in the 1989 film "Back to the Future Part Two." The film made some bold predictions about what life would be like in the year 2015, with self-tying shoes, flying cars powered by fusion engines, and hoverboards. However, some of those dreams of the future are closer than you might think. Lexus has made a hoverboard that uses the power of magnetic levitation to keep skaters aloft on specially modified tracks. Nike has filed a patent for shoes with self-tying laces.
The film also predicted that the Chicago Cubs would win the 2015 World Series. The real-life Cubs have some work to do to make that happen as they try to come back from behind in the National League Championship Series against the Mets.
