Kane Brown & Kelsea Ballerini Credit 'CMT Awards' For New Friendship

Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown are teaming up to co-host the upcoming 'CMT Awards,' but it's not just glitz and glam that is being discovered backstage.

A new friendship has sparked.

In an interview with Cody Alan, Kelsea and Kane credit the 'CMT Awards' for their newfound friendship.

'It's been forever since we have really done anything. It's nice to be able to do something with people, especially to do something with fans, and involving music and to put all of that into hosting something like the 'CMT Awards' is amazing," says Kelsea.

"We have never done anything before," Kane chimes in, referring to his previous relationship with the "Miss Me More" singer. "Me and her husband have been on tour together before, stuff like that."

"It's all in the family," jokes Kelsea.

"I just found out that she is from Knoxville today," laughs Kane.

"You're from Chattanooga?" Kelsea questions.

"Georgia, but right on the line, so we are like an hour and forty-five minutes away from each other," responds Kane.

"I just learned that today. It's funny, me and Kane have written together, but we haven't hung that much," shares Kelsea. "We had this amazing day of press together, and I am like, "Man, I just got a new friend out of this. This is amazing." It's the best kind of thing to bond over music, and you know, just hang out."

Catch the new pals host the two-and-a-half-hour performance-packed show on Wednesday, June 9th at 8p/7c broadcasting on the CMT network, including MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, and TV Land.
