Dolly Parton has nabbed a Golden Globe nomination. The singer’s tune, “Girl in the Movies,” from the Netflix movie “Dumplin’” earned her a nomination for Best Original Song.
The tune will go head-to-head, with Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born,” Troye Sivan’s “Revelation” from “Boy Erased,” Kendrick Lamar’s “All the Stars,” from “Black Panther,” and Annie Lennox’s“Requiem for a Private War,” from “A Private War.”
- This is Dolly’s fifth Golden Globe nomination. She was previously nominated for Best Original Song for “9 to 5,” as well as New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture and Best Actress—Musical/Comedy for the movie. She also received a Best Actress—Musical/Comedy nod for “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," and a Best Original Song nod for the “Transamerica” tune “Travelin’ Thru.”
