GOOD NEWS: Best Friends For 60 Years Learn They’re Biological Brothers

A man in Hawaii who was looking for his biological father on Ancestry.com discovered his best friend for the last 60 years is actually his brother. Alan Robinson and Walter Macfarlane were both born and raised in Hawaii and had been friends their whole lives without ever knowing they were related.

Macfarlane never knew his dad and Robinson was adopted, so when Macfarlane wanted to learn about his biological dad and the Internet and social media didn’t offer any clues, he turned to the family DNA matching site to get answers. That’s when he found out he had identical X chromosomes as his lifelong best friend, Robinson.

Finding out they shared the same birth mother was mind-blowing to both of them. "It was an overwhelming experience, it's still overwhelming.” Robinson says. “I don't know how long it's going to take for me to get over this feeling.” Macfarlane adds, “It really is a Christmas miracle and we're just so happy that we found it.”
