GOOD NEWS: Boy Who Fell Through Ice Reunites With Rescuer

We have an update on a GOOD News story we previously told youabout. On Christmas night, Sergeant Aaron Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Utah rescued an eight-year-old boy from an icy pond and now the two have had the chance to meet.

Jason had fallen through the ice about 25 feet from shore and Thompson jumped into the frigid water to save him. The boy has no recollection of the event, thankfully, and he’s been doing well since then.

“As a token to remember the day which brought them together, Sergeant Thompson gave Jason the Sheriff's badge he shed on Christmas evening prior to jumping into the icy water to save him,” the sheriff’s office shared in a Facebook post, along with a photo of the two fellas gazing at the location where they met. “The family is humbled by the overwhelming support from both the local community and people across the world.”
