A Georgia woman just won a big chunk of change to help pay off her student loan debt and she did it by playing a trivia game. Elizabeth Herlihy won $50,000 playing Givling, a free downloadable trivia-based app that lets players compete for $50-grand for student loan payoff or $25,000 for mortgage payoff.
Herlihy works as a physical therapist and like a lot of Americans, she was drowning in student loan debt. This $50,000 will wipe out a big portion of her loans that total more than $100,000.
“I’m in complete shock, I don’t really know what to say,” Herlihy says. “It really can happen to anyone,”
