A couple from Australia ended up shipwrecked on a deserted island, appropriately named Avoid Island, but their survival skills helped them get rescued. The couple thought to write “HELP” in big letters in the sand, so rescue teams saw their request and saved them.
The couple was on a fishing trip when a storm brought waves close to 17-feet high, throwing them overboard and washing their boat up on shore along with them. Rescue helicopters saw their distress signal so they were only stranded for eight hours.
