Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program sends kids free books from the time they’re born until the time they start kindergarten and they do it regardless of how much money mom and dad make. The singer started it back in 1995 and in just 10 years, Parton had donated a million books.
After extending the program from the U.S. to Canada, Australia, and the U.K., Imagination Library donations reached the tens of millions. And now, the country music star has delivered her 100-millionth book donation! They’re also starting a monthly young reader program with the Library of Congress that’s free and open to the public.
