Jade Hameister had a dream of completing the Polar Quest - skiing to the North and South Poles and crossing Earth’s largest polar ice cap, the only problem was the 16-year-old girl from Australia didn’t even know how to ski. But she didn’t let that stop her.
The teen learned to ski, trained intensely and in 2016 became the youngest person to ever ski to the North Pole from anywhere outside the Last Degree, which covers over 60 miles from the planet’s northern most point. Now Jade wants to inspire other teens to focus on what they want to accomplish instead of worrying about what they look like or how many likes their latest Insta post gets.
“If you have a goal or dream, just get started,” she says. “As you soon as you get started, you’re in the process.”
