GOOD NEWS: H.S. Senior Gets Into West Point, Naval Academy, And AF Academy

It’s not easy getting into a military academy, but a high school senior from Georgia is making it look like it is. Bliss Hutchings received an appointment from not one, but three branches of the military: the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and U.S. Military Academy.

The impressive 18-year-old-girl is a senior at Glynn Academy in Brunswick and her mother explains that her accomplishment is “largely unheard of.” Admissions to all three of these colleges are extremely competitive, the acceptance rate at the Air Force Academy is 14% and acceptance rates at West Point and the Naval Academy are 9% - meaning just nine out of every 100 applicants are accepted.

So where is Bliss headed this fall? She’s chosen the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
