GOOD NEWS: NC Deputies Step In For Parents Who Can’t Attend School Dance

Students at a small North Carolina elementary school didn’t have to miss out on the fun at a daddy/daughter mother/son dance just because their parents couldn’t come. A group of deputies stepped up to stand in at Bonlee Elementary school and their act of kindness worked.

“We wanted families to have a good time together,” Donna Griffith of the the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office writes in a Facebook post, “but we recognize that not all children live with their parents and not all parents are able to take off work to attend a school event.”

The deputies helped coax the kids out onto the dance floor and little boys and girls started busting a move. Deputy Jonathan Thomas posted on Facebook that “It felt like something the kids really needed.”
