When Miranda Lockwood was assigned a project to create a business, the eighth grader from Colorado decided to start a nonprofit to help others instead. She new a local cheer team, The Stars, wanted to go to a national competition so she helped them fundraise to go.
The Cheer Stars team at Peak Athletics is 17 girls with different challenges. Miranda says a couple kids are blind and a few are in wheelchairs. To help them get to that national competition, she created a GoFundMe page, which has raised more than $5,500 of the $10,000 goal so far.
