GOOD NEWS: Stephen Hawking’s Last Gift Was Meal For Homeless

Stephen Hawking’s family helped a charity host an Easter lunch for those in need on the day of his funeral. While hundreds lined up to mourn the famous physicist, 50 homeless guests sat down to a meal in his honor in Cambridge, U.K., which was described as a “gift from Stephen.”

For the dinner, Hawking’s family partnered with FoodCycle, an organization that prepares meals from fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away. A post on FoodCycle’s Instagram page explains that the family “wanted to do something that supported the local community on the day of his funeral.” Guests reportedly cheered the late professor before digging in to the Easter feast.
