Miss USA 2018 is...

The 2018 Miss USA pageant (sorry, scholarship program) is in the books and it's all about the Heartland as Miss Nebraska, Sarah Rose Summers, has been named Miss USA 2018. Hailing from Omaha, the 23-year-old will go on to represent the United States in the Miss Universe competition this November.

Her message? Empowerment. When asked what her sign would read at a hypothetical march, Summers said hers would encourage people to "speak your voice." Summers is working on becoming a certified child life specialist after graduating from Texas Christian University with two degrees.

Meanwhile, Kansas native Hailey Colborn has been crowned Miss Teen USA 2018. Colborn, a 17-year-old high school senior has a 4.0 GPA and will attend Princeton University in the fall. The Wichita native plans to pursue a career as a political strategist and plans to run for office.
