Moby, the renowned techno and house DJ, is selling off his whole personal record collection and donating all the proceeds to an animal rights health group. The Official Moby Reverb LP Shop features more than 1,000 records from his collection, along with autographed and special pressings of his own albums.
The proceeds will benefit the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a group that encourages vegan diets as treatments. Moby previously sold 100 pieces of his musical gear to help the same cause.
“These are all the records that I bought and loved and played and carried all around the world,” Moby explains. “I would rather you have them than me, because if you have them, you’ll play them, you’ll love them, and the money will go to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. So everybody wins. Well, except me, because now I don’t have any records.”
