GOOD NEWS: Officer Catches Boy Who Jumps From Deadly Fire

A police officer from Livermore Falls, Maine is being credited for saving two boys from a deadly house fire. Sergeant Vernon Stevens happened to spot the fire before it was even reported to firefighters, according to Police Chief Ernest Steward, Jr.

Sgt. Stevens yelled for an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old to jump from a second story window and he caught the 14-year-old. The 11-year-old jumped as well, but he hit a secondary roof and is expected to be okay. And Stevens suffered minor injuries being a hero, but he’ll be fine and the kids are alright and that’s what matters.
