Amazon’s virtual assistant is coming to hotels this summer. The tech giant has announced that Marriott will be their launch partner in Alexa for Hospitality. Starting this summer, Alexa will be at your service at all of the hotels under Marriott’s umbrella.
That means key info like checkout times, pool hours, and breakfast hours will be just an “Alexa” away. You’ll also be able to contact housekeeping, make spa appointments, get room service…whatever amenities they have. Alexa will even be customized by every hotel so that it can be used as a smart home feature to control lights and the TV and more.
But that's not all. You'll be able to access your iHeart Radio app, some third party apps, and TED Talks. Amazon also plans to expand the service to vacation rental companies, too. And PS? If you try and pack it with those hotel towel and robes you're swiping, they’ll get an alert…so leave it behind!
