After his mother’s death, Ray Rhinehart donated her doll collection to the American Cancer Society’s Discovery Shop in Santa Monica, California. He thought it was all behind him and was surprised to get a call from the thrift shop when they found something they thought he might not have meant to donate inside of a box.
Store workers found an envelope full of cash in one of the boxes of antique porcelain dolls, so they tracked Rhinehart down to tell him. Of course, he had no idea there was $36,000 stashed inside and was grateful for the honest employees returning it.
