Reba McEntire has been chosen as one of this year's Kennedy Center honorees. She will be honored along with Cher, composer Philip Glassand jazz great Wayne Shorter. In addition, a special award will go to the musical “Hamilton” the first time in the center’s 41-year career that an honor is being given not to an individual, but a work of art.
“I am so honored to be one of this year’s #KCHonors recipients along with @cher, Philip Glass, @WayneShorter and an Honors distinction for @HamiltonMusical & its co-creators,” Reba tweeted. “Can’t wait to see you all in DC!” She also told the “New York Times, “I will be there with bells on. I have been looking forward to this so much.”
The Kennedy Center Honors will take place December 2nd, and air on CBS December 26th.
