GOOD NEWS: Teacher Helps Former Student With New Baby

Like a lot of teachers, LaShonda Carter is always there to help her students, even after they’re not in her classroom. So when her former student Larresha Plummer was chatting with her on Facebook and the new mom mentioned she needed help to attend a job fair later in the week, Carter came through.

Plummer said she didn’t want to take her infant on public transit because she feared it would be bad for her health and her teacher from three years ago agreed. So Carter offered to drive them there herself and even stayed in the car while Plummer went in to apply for jobs.

And Carter’s help didn’t stop there, she took Plummer to apply for WIC assistance after the job fair. She also set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help the young woman get items she needs for her baby. Let’s hear it for this amazing teacher.
