Teachers often dip into their own pockets to cover classroom costs and some Florida educators recently got a little bonus to help with that. Close to 60 teachers at St. Thomas Aquinas Early Childhood Center and Trinity Elementary School in New Port Richey received a white envelope with $100 and a thank you note.
So who was behind this generous gesture? Local air conditioning company Millian-Aire Enterprises gets credit for the cash gifts. Their Director of Marketing, Michael Stein, explains, “We know teachers put a lot of their own money in so we just wanted to help lift that burden a bit.”
The teachers say they’re thankful for the unexpected gift. “It’s just really nice to think that a company just treated education so highly,” says teacher Carol Kelly.
