The Harrisburg, North Carolina fire department recently got a call from a woman asking if she could bring her son down to the station to check out the trucks. They say this isn’t an uncommon request and were happy to oblige. But when firefighters learned from this mom that the visit was in lieu of the three-year-old’s birthday party because all the guests cancelled, they wanted to do something special for the devastated tot.
“Well, the guys at the station weren’t going to let him not have a birthday,” the department shared in a Facebook post. So they hurried to buy birthday balloons and cupcakes and got three crews of firefighters to come to the station and wait for little Jackson to arrive. There were 15 firefighters there to celebrate his birthday and give him a tour of the station before singing “Happy Birthday” and watching him blow out the candles.
