When Deputy J. Marcum of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida won a thousand bucks at a Rotary Foundation meeting, he didn’t keep a penny. Instead, the member of the K-9 Unit immediately donated the grand to the Rotary Foundation to help with their hurricane relief efforts.
The Pensacola SubWest Rotary posted photos on their Facebookpage of the deputy and his K-9 partner Benga, with the caption, “That folks, is Escambia County’s finest … service above self.” Marcum’s Sheriff’s Office also gave him a shout out for his selfless act, writing that they’re proud of his work in Escambia County and “his decision to help with our neighbor’s recovery efforts.”
