Free Pizza for Voters on Election Day!

Want to donate to help support your love of democracy this election season without getting caught up in partisan politics? Then give to a cause that bridges the divide: pizza. Pizza to the Polls is a nonprofit that collects donations online in a “pizza fund” then uses them to feed hungry folks waiting in line to vote on election day. And as Pizza to the Polls puts it, “Ain’t nothing partisan about trying to make voting less of a drag.”

When people encounter a long line at a polling place on election day, they can report to Pizza to the Polls with visual evidence from Twitter or Instagram and they’ll send pies over for voters to snack on so they’ll continue to wait in line to cast their ballots.

“Americans are hungry for democracy and are turning out in record numbers to vote. But that means long lines and sometimes empty stomachs, which might discourage these brave patriots from performing their civic duty,” the group’s website states. So if you want to help support this cause, donate at any time. And if you’re stuck in line on election day, maybe you’ll get lucky and a pie will be delivered to your polling place.
