Christmas came early for some shoppers at a Pennsylvania Walmart when a generous stranger paid off all of the items in the store’s layaway. The secret Santa wrote a check for a total of $28,442.04 to the Kennett Square store and spread holiday cheer for all those folks who won’t have to cover that cost now.
A spokesperson for Walmart explains, “They told us that they picked a new Walmart each year and this just happened to be the one they selected this year to give back.”
While this anonymous act is impressive, it’s not the biggest purchase made by a mysterious charitable shopper this year. Back in June, a secret Santa spent over $1 million buying toys to donate from Toys R’ Us.
