A North Carolina couple has given $10,000 to help kids get new bicycles for Christmas. Draughon and Jennifer Cranford donated to the Weller’s Wheels drive in Monkey Junction and their generosity will help add 135 bikes to the total being distributed by the Salvation Army to families who have applied for assistance.
The Cranfords say they can appreciate the challenge parents in their area face trying to buy Christmas gifts for the family. Draughon explains that they really wanted to give this year because so many there were affected by Hurricane Florence and are having a harder time. Plus, he says a bike is “a gift not only for the child but for the whole family.”
