Georgetown, Colorado has just elected a new mayor, and he's a big boy.
Clear Creek County swore in Parker the Snow Dog as the Honorary Mayor of Georgetown. Police Judge Lynette Kelsey administered the Mayor oath to Parker in front of a packed house at city hall.
Parker arrived at his swearing-in with a tie, glasses and a wagging tail. He was unanimously voted the honorary mayor by the town Board of Selectmen on February 11. His website says “he is committed to bringing hugs, love, and cookies to the people of Georgetown.”
Parker also is passionate about Colorados’ disabled community and acts as a therapy dog at Rocky Mountain Village Easterseals camp.
