If there’s one thing we know about the coronavirus, it’s that washing hands can help protect us from it. Now the City of Detroit is helping residents continue to be able to wash their hands by restoring water service to homes that had theirs cut off due to unpaid bills.
The Detroit Water and Sewage Department’s plan will allow residents with unpaid bills to restore water for a $25 fee and keep their water on during the coronavirus outbreak for $25 a month. The city says the State of Michigan will pay the $25 reactivation fee and residents will have to cover their monthly fee.
