GOOD NEWS: Toddler Missing For 24 Hours In Woods Found Safe With Dog

It’s a happy ending for a missing three-year-old Wisconsin girl who wandered away from her house this week. Abigail Ladwig took off alone with her family’s cocker spaniel and spent 24-hours lost in the woods before being found safe.

A Facebook post from theexplains that the toddler and her dog, Peanut, walked away around 6:45pm Sunday evening. Her mother reported her missing and hundreds of volunteers came together to search the area for Abigail. Their hard work paid off and around 7:20pm Monday evening, the little girl and her dog were located in the woods just a short distance from her house. She only sustained minor scratches, bug bites and she was dehydrated, but both Abigail and Peanut are okay.

Pat Sanchez, a coordinator of Sawyer County Search and Rescue, says, “It’s amazing how in times of need, we all come together for such an amazing outcome.”
