Cancelled Wedding helps feed those in need

An Ohio couple who had to cancel the large wedding they had been planning turned it into a chance to do an act of kindness for their community.TylerandMelanie Tapajnaopted to have a small backyard ceremony instead and donated the food that would’ve been served at their reception to a local shelter for women and children.

After the newlyweds tied the knot in front of immediate family members, they headed over toLaura's Home, a shelter in Cleveland. The bride was still wearing her wedding gown and the groom was in his tux and they kept on their face masks and put on gloves and hairnets to serve up the food that would’ve fed 150 wedding guests at the reception. The fried chicken, green beans, salad and mac and cheese that was cooked up by caterers became dinner for 135 women and kids at the shelter.

“You can definitely give back in times like this,” Melanie said.
