GOOD NEWS: All-Women Team Builds Habitat For Humanity Home For Woman

  • A special crew is hard at work building a woman’s dream home in Charlotte.
  • Deborah Adams has never owned a home before and she’s getting one thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
  • But her home is being built by a team of all women, which makes it even better.

Habitat for Humanity has just started building a dream home for a woman in Charlotte, North Carolina, but a special team is behind this one. A crew of all women is hard at work getting the walls up on the new house forDeborah Adams.

She’s never owned a house before, so she’s excited to get to move in when construction is complete in four to five months. Adams says, “To me, it’s like a dream come true.”

This isn’t the first all-female team Habitat has used, they’ve actually done an all-women build for 29 consecutive years now. But this year, the pandemic has brought extra challenges. Project managerAnna Davisexplains they don’t have the same labor force they normally do, but she says “I have faith in these guys.”
