Good News for Mickey Mouse and friends

The pandemic has hit Disney hard and one employee is working hard to help make sure none of her laid-off coworkers go hungry.Emily Lartiguestarted a food pantry in Windermere, Florida, near Disney World, for those who have been furloughed by the company.

She calls it the“The Cast Member Pantry,”because Disney calls its employees cast members and with so many out of work, many people have been using it. Lartigue started it out of her garage and it’s now grown into a storage unit and has given out 8-thousand bags of food since March.

“Our mission is ‘no cast member goes hungry,’” she explains. It’s a big undertaking, especially since no one knows how long this will last. But as long as it does, The Cast Member Pantry will be there handing out food to former cast members in need every Saturday.
