Good News for 101 year old

January 14th was a big day forRuby Beshara. The World War II veteran hit two milestones, turning 101 and getting the first dose of her COVID vaccine. She wasn’t able to celebrate her birthday with friends and family because of coronavirus restrictions, but she did enjoy a small, socially distanced party with other residents at Vitalia Active Adult Community-Rockside in Seven Hills, Ohio.

The former staff sergeant sported a birthday sash that read “101 and Fabulous” and a tiara for her special day. She also stressed the importance of staying safe during the pandemic and said, “I’m doing what I’m supposed to do” by getting vaccinated.

Ruby also offered her advice for happy living: “Enjoy life as much as possible. You might live a lot longer.”
